1973-74 Sears Kenmore Heavy Duty 1.2 amp All-Metal Sewing Machine 158.17033. Very High Shank Zig Zag Foot. Hard carrying case (repaired). Excellent condition, machine was very lightly used during it’s life showing very little wear to the machinery. Machine has been fully serviced and oiled and runs like a champ. Both upper and lower belts were replaced and adjusted. See stitch sample (please excuse my poor sewing ability). There is minor wear on the front nose of the machine where it can rub against the case (see last photo) otherwise in near-perfect condition. Fully tested working (even the bobbing winding button/clutch release which can be problematic on these models). I was surprised to learn that this particular class of sewing machine (early 70’s Kenmore 158s) are considered among the best sewing machines of all time. These were produced in Japan with all-metal construction. As such, the internals are bullet proof and you’ll never deal with damaged or worn gears. Additionally, the incredibly powerful 1.2 amp motors allow for heavy leather sewing with ease (provided you have the right needle and thread). This particular machine was manufactured in 1973 or 1974 and appears to have been VERY lightly used. Presently, over 90% of my orders go out same day.
